Wineries

One of the prettiest vineyards was Benson Winery located about 10 miles

 up the lake from Chelan.  Also had the best tasting.

Chelan, Washington

Decided to check out the Columbia Valley wine region once again.  Last time we

were in the south below Yakima.  This time decided to hang further north - found Chelan

which has about 2 dozen vineyards along beautiful Lake Chelan.

The river walk park takes in about a mile long trek of beautiful scenery

Campground (city owned) is one of the nicer parks we've stayed in on this trip

Coulee City, WA

From Grand Coulee dam area, we moved south along Banks Lake, which is a man made

lake with water pumped uphill from Lake Roosevelt and used to supply the farmland in the 

valley region.  This lake runs for about 30 miles to Coulee City and stops at Dry Falls.

Area above the dam, even though supplied by the Columbia river, is called Lake Roosevelt.

Grand Coulee dam

Dam was started in the 30's with the main primary purpose of supplying 

irrigation to the Columbia Valley area - some 500,000 acres.  Secondary purpose 

was to control flooding along the Columbia river area all the way to Portland.

Each pump has the capability of pumping a billion gallons per day.

Town has a rich history from the wild west but most activity today is

casinos, bars and hotels

After initial reviews, was determined that roof of motorhome had to be replaced which 

took an additional week and time away from the coach.  Company out us up at the 

local hangout which turned out to be really nice

their final inspection at the end of the 2 year warranty
